Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone! In case you were wondering whatever happened to the pumpkins Thomas and I picked at that patch in Vermont--this is it! We didn't have a place to carve them properly in Vermont so they ended up rolling around the backseat of my car for about a week and driving me crazy every time I took a turn or had to brake. But eventually we were back at my home and able to carve them up. I obviously worn something different while carving since I have no desire to get pumpkin guts on my new shoes!

Girl Scout

I rarely have a reason to wear a costume at Halloween these years--I'm far too old for trick-or-treating and most of my friends have fall themed parties without the costumes. But I do enjoy dressing up and when I saw this vintage girl scout dress hanging in an antique mall I couldn't resist. Most days I'll probably try to play down the girl scout look but since it is the season to "come as you aren't" I decided to play it up a bit. I could use a cute neck tie, but I do think my new purse looks appropriately on theme. I love the little embossed crossed keys and the handy size; it's made to carry your iPad or Nook, but also perfectly holds these binoculars and a map. Now, I need to go earn some merit badges!

Michael Always Comes Home at Halloween

Fair warning: slightly scary post if you scroll down! Halloween has never been my favorite holiday and if I never saw another scary movie I'd be fine, however as I've mentioned before Thomas has a lot of enthusiasm for this season and creepy movies and his enthusiasm is catching. So in honor of this spooky time we decided to create a little photoshoot inspired by the classic horror: Halloween. We visited the abandoned theme park I've taken pictures at a few times before, found Thomas the perfect creepy costume, and enlisted my friend Jon to snap the mayhem. Strangely enough we were not the only ones doing a horror-themed photoshoot at the abandoned theme park on this day--there was also a creepy clown wandering around with photographer in tow! All in all it was a pretty fun day and I think the photographs do a really good job of telling the story. I'm already wondering what scary movie we should pay homage to next year. Any suggestions?
