Normans Printery

I want to wrap all of my presents (and maybe myself) up in paper by Normans Printery. They have the best wrapping paper--vintage maps, beautiful textiles, monochromatic sea life--it's all so good. No ribbons or further embellishment necessary.

Makers

I've been waiting for a more mild day to wear my new Heinui dress from the Makers collection. It's a beautiful printed silk dress, which even with a slip layered underneath for extra warmth isn't quite suited to our winter temperatures. But on an overcast, warmer day I finally managed to wear it out of the house. Between the relaxed silhouette and sweet sailor collar, I think it will be an ideal summer dress once that season rolls around. For now I'm wearing it with my favorite zipper tights on walks through the woods--which are still looking remarkably autumn-ish in spots (our snow didn't last long).

Stylish Spaces: A Colorful Duplex in Glasgow

I really like the use of color and creative storage in this chic home in Glasgow. How pretty is the teal cabinet for shoes? Or the quirky use of cake pans as wall decor in the dining room? It's definitely giving me ideas for my future home. via

Winter Whites

I've been eagerly following the weather reports hoping for a true snow day. We've had flurries and even a couple of days were the snow stuck for an afternoon, but compared to last winter there really hasn't been anything to get excited about. Still, on this day of flurries I couldn't resist celebrating with nearly all the white clothing I could find. I've still got my fingers crossed for a proper "White Christmas!"

I've Got A Compass In My Hand

I want to wrap myself in this awesome map tapestry on a hot day at the beach, but for now it's adding a lot of color and flair to my otherwise boring walls. It's making me want to go on adventures! If only the weather was slightly better...

Sheepish

As with many a winter post I must preface these pictures by acknowledging that it is quite cold and I wore a coat on top of this outfit, but shed it for the pictures. It was actually my yellow duffle coat which was too matchy with the canoe. Anyway, I'm still a die hard dresses and tights girl (even in blizzards), but I've been drawn to really cozy sweaters lately that don't work with my dresses or skirts. This sweater is actually quite warm and I adore the little red scarves the sheep are wearing--maybe next time I'll match myself to them. A little red neckerchief would look sweet, no?
P.S. Use code "REBECCA143" to get 35% off at Avenle (where my sweater is from) for this week only!

Sunday Remix

1 / 2 / 3 / 4

A simple white blouse in spring, summer, fall, and winter. When you only have a handful of blouses they get a lot of wear, but being picky with the ones you buy means you will like them enough to wear again and again. Picky and investing smartly doesn't always mean breaking the bank--this blouse is by Forever 21, but it has all the elements I was looking for: fits close to the body, 3/4 length sleeves, lace detailing that isn't excessive, and thick enough fabric to prevent it from being sheer! Investing to me is about buying pieces you plan to wear again and again.

Though She Be But Little

Although I'm 5'1" I don't consider myself a "petite blogger" or really think of myself as petite person most days. Still every so often you put on a garment and you think, "wow I'm short." This cardigan was one of those items for me. I put it on and wanted to laugh because if I belted it, it would be more modest and long than the majority of my dresses! But sometimes you just can't resist a oversized layer and it is quite comfy. With a tee and jeans it's perfect for lounging around the house, but to go out I definitely feel a need to keep everything else more fitted and sleek.
P.S. If you like something at White Plum use code "HORSEHOLIDAY40" to get 40% off until 12/19.
