Haunted House

Yeah, so I have no reason to believe this house is haunted, it just looked cool and spooky so we decided to take a few pictures in front of it. It was marked as a historic house in the area although it's been turned into a business now. Before stumbling across this beautiful (and slightly spooky) house, we spent our morning searching for the infamous Beetlejuice house. Although based in Connecticut it was filmed in East Corinth, Vermont. Unfortunately as we learned from locals while wandering around East Corinth, the facade of a house stayed up for a few years but was eventually torn down...We didn't quite do our research on that one.

Fall Vibes

Our road trip through Vermont wasn't completely smooth-sailing. After one place we planned to stay at didn't work out we spent a night finding out that although the roads were relatively empty the hotels were booked full. It was late, dark, and we had been on the road since the early morning; it seemed like the only places that were available were way out of budget and in the process of closing for the night. I thought we might end up sleeping in my tiny car or heading home early even though we had barely explored Vermont! But eventually we found a place to crash and thankfully woke up to a solution that meant we didn't have to cancel our trip early. After all the stress we were rewarded with one of our most beautiful fall days of the trip--cute towns (Peacham, St Johnsbury, etc), quaint diners, and all the fall color we could have desired. Our mishaps make for a good story and when the sun is shining on a leaf-strewn path like this one they seem quite distant and trifling.

The Largest Corn Maze In Vermont

Thomas and I spent about an hour and a half wandering this 12 acre corn maze. We (and by we I mostly mean Thomas) probably would have been able to solve the maze in less time if we hadn't stopped for a few pictures along the way! But despite the stops and distraction we still managed to make it out without using the early exit for those who get truly lost. Fall will never be my favorite season, but I'm definitely starting to warm up to it with all of these fun activities you really only get in this season. Being around people with a lot of enthusiasm for autumn also helps--enthusiasm is contagious.

Postcards From Vermont

In case you haven't been following my adventures on Instagram, I'm just back from a road trip through Vermont. The trees were glorious, the little towns were adorable, and if I didn't hate winter so much I'd consider moving there. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the trip; most pictures were taken by Thomas.
