These four knit hats are the ones I anticipate being in the highest rotation this winter. I have a couple of other knit hats (my grey bear-ear hat, my fox hat, a vintage white one) but I haven't been able to locate them yet this year and suspect I might have left them with Thomas in Northern Ireland. I'm quite proud of my winter accessory collection considering when I first left Hawaii to go to college on the East Coast I had one hat (the red one in this post!), one pair of gloves, and one winter coat. It was a cold winter and I definitely got tired of my winter clothes, but instead of going on a shopping haul I have steadily added to my collection a piece or two at a time. I still believe this is the best way to build a lasting collection of pieces you'll want to keep in your wardrobe. Go through the growing pains of wanting more options and not having them, but add slowly and thoughtfully. When you take the time to pick your pieces carefully then you're less likely to want to replace or get rid of them the following year.

Daisy Rings

I found ComeJew's dedicate creations when searching for potential bridesmaid's gifts on Etsy. I love the their sweet daisy ring and necklace--I especially love the idea of pairing the teeny-tiny bee knuckle ring with the flower! Of course, I have since remembered that one of my bridesmaids has metal allergies, so most jewelry options are probably off the table. Still the brief hunt means I did discover a few treasures for myself. The shop has so many options it was difficult to make myself only pick a couple of favorites; this might become by go-to shop for delicate jewelry options at a reasonable price.

Burger Queen

I try to cook most of my meals at home because it's cheaper and more healthy, but man do I love my junk food. I only get a burger and fries maybe once a week, but they taste so good! My friends tease me because I'd usually rather eat at Burger King than a fancy restaurant, but I'm addicted to their fries. Ironically as a child I rarely ate fast food. My sisters and I used to see McDonalds' ads on the television and we'd beg our parents to take us but they always refused. Eventually one day they gave in and we got our much coveted Happy Meals and we actually hated them! My tastebuds have definitely changed since then and probably not for the better. Anyway, I was this close to buying a purse in the shape of fries but ultimately resisted because the shape was too similar to my popcorn purse. Still even with that minor resistance I have amassed a small collection of junk food related clothing...

Haters

I'm not sure if this headband by Le Vero is meant to be a message to all the haters or is labeling me as a hater, but either way I'm a fan of the headband. It's so well made and will definitely add some pizazz to any outfit (it also comes in pink & metallic gold). And since haters "gonna hate-hate-hate" here are a list of random things that drive me bonkers:
-slow Internet speeds
-people who tailgate
-cold french fries
-dog hair on dark clothes
-people who talk in movie theaters
-asking people to repeat themselves because I couldn't understand the first time

Almanac For June

Since I'm a sucker for everything star related I pretty much want everything in the shop Almanac for June. Their jewelry and accessories are a step up from your generic star-shaped pendant; in it's place is an elegant crescent moon hair pin and moon phases ring. I love their ability to marry detail with whimsy.

Don Fisher Shop

Thomas frequently takes me fishing when I visit him (we're strictly catch & release people) and while I never envisioned myself as a fisher, it is climbing in my list of favorite leisure activities. So, a fish-themed purse or wallet isn't completely out of character. I really like these detailed, colorful designs by Don Fisher. Even the interior features a quirky print that looks like a fish skeleton. 

Statement Earrings from 9th&Elm

Although I'm not usually one for large, dangly earrings I couldn't resist these sparkly ones at 9th&Elm. I already own a few pieces from 9th&elm.com but as a refresher: the site offers flash sales of discounted designer pieces for a limited period of time. Unlike other shops the designers they feature are all indie designers and most of the pieces are handmade. These earrings are by Kristin Perry, but there's already new pieces on 9th&Elm to covet.

Hair Desserts

I recently received some sweet accessories in the mail from Hair Dessert and I'm already addicted. They're the perfect size to actually make a statement in your hair without being overwhelming and obviously the food theme is a win. The cheeseburger was meant to be, after all I'm a burger queen.

Green Accordion

Summer for me is all about the denim jacket; I might switch things up with a cardigan or some other light layer, but pretty much every day the piece I want to layer with is my denim jacket. I've toyed with the idea of adding patches or drawing on it to make it more personal, but ultimately I like it as a clean slate too much. Some outfits would look cool with patches, but other ones I want to look preppy-et. This summer my focus on temporary personalization has me on the hunt for cool brooches. They're the perfect finishing touch to my denim jacket--one brooch adds sparkle, another geek cred, and they all can be removed at the end of the day. Right now I have my eye on these incredible handmade felt brooches by Green Accordion. The name comes from the maker's first felt creation, a green accordion, but I'm more drawn to her incredible typewriters and retro cameras. She's unfortunately on vacation right now, but I added her shop to my Etsy favorites and I'm quietly anticipating her return so I can snag one. 

Elemental Child

I'm currently coveting these handmade and elaborate rough-cut stone crowns by Elemental Child. In winter I'm mostly preoccupied with keeping my head warm with knit hats, but in spring and summer I quite enjoy more whimsical hair embellishments that serve only as style rather than function. These crowns are truly stunning statement makers and a nice option away from the ubiquitous flower crown (although I still love flower crowns since my first one in 2007). Kate of All This Happiness is definitely pulling off the regal look in the Sign Of Fire lookbook.

Celapiu

Although we're heading into spring it's still cool and breezy so this Etsy shop crush is still relevant. Celapiu makes the sweetest knits--fox scarves, antler headbands, and perhaps my favorite: a braided shrug that looks like chic rope draped around your shoulders. I'm coveting several pieces from their delightful shop.

Maison des Perles

Founding artist Môko Kobayashi of Maison des Perles uses classical haute couture embroidery techniques to create playful accessories that shimmer and enchant. Kobayashi approaches her subjects with a penetrating attention to detail. These quirky brooches range from nontraditional interpretations of cute animals to completely unique creations like ramen bowls and paint tubes. I'd definitely love to pin one to my lapel.
